Liam and Fletcher have been working away at something SPECIAL for you all! This week's episode takes a side-step from the usual Listenin' Too Closely template, instead diving into a deep discussion about the so called "500 Greatest Songs of All Time", decided once again (for the first time in 17 years) by the one and only Rolling Stone magazine. You'll learn very quickly how our hosts feel about this ranking - Liam even went to a great deal of effort to put a huge spreadsheet together so as to prove his point. Fletcher poorly attempts to remain indifferent in the hope that he may still have a chance at being on the cover of the Rolling Stone one day... fat chance now I guess. Curious? Well get listenin'!

Take Me Home, Country Roads

It's about time we heard a country song on Listenin' Too Closely! After all, Fletcher is a country music fanatic and wastes no time in telling you that, or in showing you numerous other country songs because apparently one wasn't enough. This week, Liam and Fletcher sing along to 'Take Me Home, Country Roads' by John Denver, take a huge dive into the lyrics, and ramble on about the country music genre in general. But wait! This episode isn't complete without Mark Zuckerberg on an electric surfboard, the goalie for the Nashville Predators hockey team, and inspiring postcards sent from exotic neighbouring states. Just when you thought Liam and Fletcher were merely musicians, they unleash their deep and meaningful philosophies in this episode all about 'Changes' by the late and great, David Bowie. If philosophy bores you though, don't disparage, because to the untrained ear, it's actually a podcast about the history of Vine (whose memes will always live on); the detailed functions of Pepper's Ghost and how it's bringing us ABBAtars; and an unfinished joke about Elton John, The Beatles and Genesis walking into a bar. When She Loved Me
